Product Overview
A Calibration Gas Mixture is a reference gas or gas mixture used as comparative standard in the calibration of analytical instruments. The anesthesia delivery machine provides with a calibration gas 755571-HEL containing a gas mixture of 2% Desflurane, 5% CO₂, 54.5% O₂, 36% N₂O and 2.5% N₂ in a gas cylinder as the calibration gas to calibrate. Calibration refers to an instrument’s accuracy relative to a substance of known measurement the instrument’s response to the calibration gas serves as reference point. The sensors in the delivery machine respond to a sample of air as well as to a substance of known concentration. Detectors compare responses in both cases and conclude the accuracy of system. IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) policy requires that all equipment associated with the delivery of inhalant anesthetics be evaluated regularly to assure proper function and integrity. Hence anesthetic vaporizers periodically have their calibrations verified as required.
