Shoulder Screws are also known as shoulder bolts. They are machine screws that have an unthreaded shoulder under a head that is larger in diameter than the threads. Shoulder screws have three major main parts, the section head, shoulder and thread. The head is the largest diameter, while the thread has a major diameter that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the shoulder. It acts like a shaft or dowel for the rotation or sliding of attached parts. This part is made of Delrin® material. This material is a crystalline plastic which gives a good dimensional properties and bridge a gap between metal and plastic. The material offers high corrosion resistance, excellent toughness and higher ductility. It is used in many products like XM Senographe Essential, MR Signa HD Excite 1.5T, UL Voluson P8 , MR Signa HDe 1.5T and XM Diamond Delta 32.
